Rite Foods Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing access to quality education as the world marks the International Day of Education, underscoring its focus on sustainable learning and community development.
In a statement to commemorate the day, the leading Nigerian food and beverage company said it continues to support education through targeted outreach initiatives implemented under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework. The programmes are designed to assist pupils in public primary schools within underserved communities, reflecting the company’s belief that education is a critical driver of national development, social inclusion and long-term economic growth.
As part of the initiative, Rite Foods distributed essential learning materials, including school bags and exercise books, to pupils in selected schools across Lagos and Ogun states. The support, the company noted, is aimed at easing learning challenges, boosting academic engagement and promoting inclusive growth in host communities.
A key highlight of the outreach was its strong sustainability focus. The school bags were produced from recycled post-consumer packaging waste sourced from Rite Foods’ product portfolio, including Fearless Energy Drinks, Bigi Soft Drinks and Water, as well as sausage packaging. The initiative reflects the company’s commitment to environmental stewardship and the promotion of circular economy practices.
The school engagements also featured interactive learning sessions, educational activities and practical demonstrations on recycling and environmental responsibility, exposing pupils to early lessons on sustainability and responsible consumption.
Commenting on the initiative, the Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Rite Foods, Ekuma Eze, said education remains central to the company’s social impact agenda.
“Education is the foundation upon which sustainable societies are built. At Rite Foods, we remain committed to supporting learning initiatives that not only improve access to education but also inspire responsible citizenship and environmental consciousness,” Eze said.
He added that the company’s education strategy goes beyond material support, focusing on empowering young minds with the confidence, values and opportunities required to succeed in a rapidly changing world.
Rite Foods stated that as the global community observes the International Day of Education, it will continue to leverage education-focused and sustainability-driven initiatives to support community development and contribute to long-term societal progress.
