Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has commended residents of the state for their support and resilience over the past seven years of his administration, describing the journey as one of shared sacrifice and collective progress.
In a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, the governor said the achievements recorded under his leadership reflect the cooperation and trust of Lagosians.
Sanwo-Olu said the administration was driven by a clear vision to build a “Greater Lagos that works for all,” noting that key milestones have been recorded across infrastructure, healthcare, education reforms, urban mass transportation, youth empowerment, and urban renewal projects across the state’s five divisions.
He acknowledged that the administration operated through challenging global conditions, including the COVID-19 pandemic and other socio-economic shocks, but remained committed to delivering its THEMES+ development agenda.
“As we mark this seventh anniversary, I want to assure Lagosians that the best is yet to come. We will not rest on our oars. We will do more in providing quality roads, affordable housing, reliable healthcare, world-class education, and a secure environment where businesses can thrive,” the governor said.
Sanwo-Olu urged residents to continue supporting government policies aimed at sustainable development, while calling for deeper collaboration with the private sector and development partners.
He also applauded President Bola Tinubu, saying the Renewed Hope Agenda has supported progress in Lagos in critical sectors including infrastructure, health, education, and empowerment.
The governor noted that his administration had recently presented its scorecard through ministerial press briefings, adding that “all our modest achievements in the past years have been presented to the good people of Lagos.”
He expressed appreciation to civil servants, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community stakeholders, members and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as well as party executives, for their contributions to the state’s development over the past seven years.
