Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Thursday, extended his congratulations to the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina, on his 65th birthday.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, Governor Sanwo-Olu described Adesina, a former Nigerian Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, as a distinguished ambassador of Nigeria and Africa.
“On behalf of my family, the government, and the people of Lagos State, I congratulate Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina on his 65th birthday. Dr. Adesina is a worthy representative of Nigeria and Africa. He has demonstrated exemplary leadership and commitment to development in his various roles at both national and international levels,” the governor stated.
Sanwo-Olu highlighted Adesina’s impact in transforming Nigeria’s agricultural sector during his tenure as Minister of Agriculture and his contributions to Africa’s economic growth as the President of AfDB.
“Dr. Adesina turned around agriculture in Nigeria and has been instrumental in driving development across the African continent. His leadership at AfDB has brought immense benefits to many nations,” he added.
The governor wished Adesina continued good health and wisdom as he remains dedicated to serving humanity, Nigeria, Africa, and the world.
