Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday presented brand-new official vehicles to Level 17 officers across Lagos State’s Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), aiming to boost efficiency and service delivery in the civil service.
The handover ceremony, held at the State House in Alausa, marks the third occasion the administration has provided vehicles to Directors in the state’s public service. Sanwo-Olu said the gesture is designed to motivate top officers, promote responsibility, diligence, and commitment, and inspire lower-cadre workers to excel.
“This vehicular support is our modest gesture to reward your service and further enhance your dedication to public service. The public is watching, and we must give our best at all times,” the governor said.
Sanwo-Olu also highlighted other welfare initiatives, including a Housing Loan scheme for workers and the ongoing remodeling of the Alausa Secretariat staff canteen into a four-storey building to improve working conditions.
The Head of Service, Olabode Agoro, thanked the governor, emphasizing that the gesture reflects the administration’s commitment to civil servants’ welfare and ensures retirees receive their pensions.
“By this gesture, Lagos civil service shall remain the foremost public service in the country. We pledge continued loyalty to the Sanwo-Olu administration and dedication to serving the public,” Agoro said.
