Sanwo-Olu Salutes NGX Chairman Ahonsi Unuigbe at 50

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Petralon Energy, Ahonsi Unuigbe, on the occasion of his 50th birthday, describing him as a visionary entrepreneur and patriotic Nigerian whose achievements have contributed significantly to the country’s economic development.

Unuigbe, who also serves as Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), turns 50 on Friday.

In a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, Governor Sanwo-Olu praised Unuigbe’s leadership, innovation, and commitment to national development through enterprise.

The governor described the Petralon Energy founder as an innovative business leader with a firm belief in Nigeria’s vast potential and the role of citizens in driving the country’s growth and transformation.

According to Sanwo-Olu, Unuigbe demonstrated confidence in Nigeria through the steady growth of Petralon Energy since its establishment in 2014, building it into a respected player in the nation’s upstream oil and gas sector.

He noted that beyond his entrepreneurial success, Unuigbe’s optimism, patience, and disciplined approach to business serve as qualities worthy of emulation, particularly among young Nigerians.

The governor urged the nation’s youth to identify and pursue investment opportunities within the country, stressing that Nigeria’s ongoing rebuilding process under President Bola Tinubu is creating opportunities for national development and the emergence of a new generation of business leaders.

“On behalf of my family, the government and the people of Lagos State, I congratulate the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Petralon Energy, Mr. Ahonsi Unuigbe, on his golden jubilee birthday celebration,” Sanwo-Olu said.

He commended Unuigbe’s contributions to the Nigerian economy and highlighted his role as a director of Meren Energy Inc., formerly Africa Oil, a company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Stockholm.

According to the governor, Unuigbe’s achievements continue to showcase the entrepreneurial ingenuity of Nigerians and the country’s capacity to provide enduring leadership on the global stage.

Sanwo-Olu prayed for continued good health, wisdom, and greater accomplishments for the Petralon Energy chief as he marks the milestone age of 50.
