The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has extended Easter greetings to residents, urging them to embrace love, unity, and the spirit of sacrifice as they commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Speaking to journalists at Lagos House, Marina, Governor Sanwo-Olu praised Christians for their devotion during the Lenten season and encouraged them to sustain virtues of charity, compassion, and peaceful coexistence.

He stated, “As we come to the end of the Lenten season, a period of fasting and reflection, it is my hope that the lessons learnt will guide our daily lives. Easter is a season of blessings, love, and happiness. Let us be our brother’s keeper, love our neighbours, and maintain a safe and inclusive community.”

Governor Sanwo-Olu also highlighted the recent overlap of Easter with Ramadan, noting the shared message of gratitude and reflection across faiths.

On national matters, he commended President Bola Tinubu for his leadership and ongoing reforms, citing improvements in the financial sector, capital markets, inflation management, and economic growth.

He acknowledged security challenges in parts of the country, expressing sympathy for victims while affirming the government’s commitment to addressing these issues.

The Governor concluded by encouraging residents to celebrate responsibly, reinforcing the values of unity, empathy, and community stewardship during the festive season.
