Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc, a member of Standard Bank Group, has unveiled the 2025 edition of its University Scholarship Programme, pledging full-tuition awards to 200 outstanding students who excel in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The initiative represents an investment of ₦160 million in Nigeria’s educational sector. In addition to covering tuition fees, each beneficiary will receive ₦800,000 in a dedicated trust fund to support their financial growth alongside academic pursuits.
Kunle Adedeji, Acting Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Holdings, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to nurturing future leaders through sustained investment in education.
“Education remains the most powerful catalyst for transformation, both for individuals and for our nation. Through our scholarship programme, we’re not simply funding tuition—we’re investing in Nigeria’s future leaders, innovators, and change-makers,” Adedeji said.
Now in its seventh year, the scheme has supported 590 students since its inception in 2019. It forms part of Stanbic IBTC’s long-term focus on sustainable community investment, particularly in human capital development.
Speaking on the initiative, Wole Adeniyi, Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Bank, described education as the “bedrock of development,” adding that empowering young Nigerians is critical to national growth.
The 2025 selection process will maintain established standards, with beneficiaries chosen based on UTME performance, academic track record, and leadership potential. The programme also ensures gender balance and inclusivity across disciplines and institutions nationwide.
Eligibility is open to Nigerian citizens who sat for the 2025 UTME and have gained admission into a Nigerian university for undergraduate studies.
