President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election as Governor of Anambra State, describing his victory as a testament to visionary leadership and the state’s steady progress under his administration.
In a statement personally signed by the President, Tinubu said Soludo’s overwhelming victory in Saturday’s governorship election made him the third governor in Anambra’s political history to win a second term in office.
“I must also congratulate the people of Anambra State, the security agencies, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the peaceful and successful conduct of the governorship election,” the President stated.
Tinubu lauded Soludo’s leadership style, noting that his re-election reflected the people’s confidence in his ability to deliver good governance. He described the governor as “the Solution,” adding that Soludo’s application of knowledge and academic principles to governance has promoted accountability, transparency, and prudent management of resources.
“I visited Anambra State in May this year, where I inaugurated some projects executed by the Soludo administration. I highlighted the good thinking behind the landmark projects embarked upon by Mr. Solution. That experience was indeed remarkable and will remain indelible in my mind,” Tinubu said.
The President further commended Soludo for bringing discipline, brilliance, and innovation to governance, noting that Anambra under his leadership continues to live up to its motto as “The Light of the Nation.”
He urged the governor to be magnanimous in victory and to seek the cooperation of his opponents in the just-concluded election.
“I assure Governor Soludo of my unwavering support and look forward to continued collaboration between Anambra State and the Federal Government,” the statement added.
Tinubu also praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and its new Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, for conducting what observers described as a credible and transparent election.
“The victory of the opposition All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) demonstrates the vitality of our political system and affirms that the triumph of a progressive and hardworking leader can hardly be denied,” Tinubu concluded.
