TotalEnergies’ Senegalese subsidiary, TotalEnergies Senegal, will be represented at the MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2025 conference and exhibition by Managing Director and Country Chair Badara Mbacké. Scheduled for December 8–10 in Dakar, the event will convene key stakeholders from the MSGBC region’s oil, gas, and power sectors to discuss investment, exploration, and infrastructure developments across West Africa.
Mbacké’s participation underscores TotalEnergies’ active role in Senegal, where the company leads in petroleum product distribution and engages in the country’s growing offshore oil and gas sector. TotalEnergies operates the Rufisque Offshore Profond and Ultra Deep Offshore exploration blocks in partnership with Senegal’s national oil company Petrosen and the Korea National Oil Corporation, focusing on technical studies, appraisal, and exploration planning.
In the downstream sector, TotalEnergies Marketing Senegal maintains a strong presence, operating over 170 service stations nationwide and supplying LNG to Senegal’s floating power plant. The company is also coordinating with the national electricity provider Senelec for additional deliveries as part of the country’s gas-to-power expansion, with the Gandon power plant expected to begin operations in early 2026.
Senegal’s energy landscape has recently advanced with the start of production at the Sangomar oilfield in 2024 and plans for a second refinery to process local crude, reducing fuel imports. TotalEnergies holds a 7% stake in the existing Société Africaine de Raffinage refinery.
