Voting was disrupted in Ejigbo, Osun State, following an outbreak of violence at a polling area during the ongoing governorship election.
The incident reportedly started after a youth discovered materials allegedly linked to vote-buying and said to belong to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The youth reportedly said he and others seized the materials because they did not want to allow what they described as an illegal activity to continue without taking action.
The situation reportedly escalated when individuals allegedly connected to the materials arrived at the scene and attempted to take the youth away.
The development heightened tension in the area, forcing voters, residents and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to flee the polling area for safety.
Video footage from the scene showed residents running in different directions, while motorcycles and vehicles moved through the area amid the chaos.
