Wema Bank has rewarded 273 customers with a total of ₦17.96 million within one month of launching Season 5 of its flagship 5 for 5 Rewards campaign, underscoring the early success of the initiative and the bank’s commitment to rewarding customer loyalty.

The campaign, launched on May 2, 2026, as part of Wema Bank’s 81st anniversary celebrations, introduced a more structured and inclusive rewards framework aimed at encouraging positive financial habits while recognizing loyal customers across the Youth, Women, and Mass Market segments.

The season commenced with a special activation at Ikeja City Mall, where 81 customers received ₦81,000 each, resulting in ₦6.56 million in rewards distributed on the launch day. Since then, the campaign has continued through daily and monthly draws, producing an additional 192 winners within its first month.

In the Youth segment, 37 students received rewards totaling ₦4.4 million. This included 20 students who received ₦50,000 each through the PocketMoni reward scheme and 17 university students who were awarded ₦200,000 each in tuition support.

The Women segment also recorded notable participation, with 12 customers receiving ₦150,000 each under the #SelfCare category.

The Mass Market segment accounted for the highest number of beneficiaries. During the first month, 120 customers received daily cash rewards, while 23 customers won ₦200,000 each in the monthly draw, bringing total rewards distributed within the segment to ₦5.2 million.

Commenting on the campaign’s performance, Wema Bank Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Moruf Oseni, said the bank remains committed to delivering meaningful, transparent, and accessible rewards to its customers.

According to him, the strong response to Season 5 and the number of beneficiaries recorded within the first month reflect the bank’s belief that everyday banking should create opportunities for customers while promoting positive financial habits.

Oseni noted that more reward categories, winners, and opportunities are planned as the campaign progresses, adding that the bank remains focused on creating value and expanding the benefits available to customers.

To qualify for the campaign, customers are required to open or reactivate a Wema Bank account, fund it with a minimum of ₦5,000, maintain an average monthly balance of ₦5,000, and complete at least five monthly transactions using the ALAT app, Wema or ALAT cards, or the *945# banking platform.

Wema Bank said more than ₦170 million has been earmarked for rewards between May and December 2026, with thousands of additional customers expected to benefit as the campaign continues. The bank noted that the initiative is designed to reward loyalty, encourage positive financial behaviour, and deliver value beyond traditional banking services.
