Wimbledon 2021: Second seed Aryna Sabalenka into fourth round for first time

Aryna Sabalenka reached the fourth round of Wimbledon for the first time after a comfortable 6-0 6-3 win over Colombian Maria Camila Osorio Serrano.

The second seed from Belarus eased past the teenager with a confident display in 75 minutes, serving five aces.

She will face Elena Rybakina next after the Kazakh’s 6-1 6-4 win over American Shelby Rogers.

Seventh seed Iga Swiatek dropped just one game as she raced through with a swift victory over Irina-Camelia Begu.

The Pole, who won the French Open in 2020, beat the Romanian 6-1 6-0.

The 55-minute match could have been even quicker, had it not been for a 10-minute fifth game in the second set.

Swiatek will face Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur or 2017 Wimbledon champion Garbine Muguruza for a place in the quarter-finals.

Former world number one Karolina Pliskova struggled with her serve as she overcame Czech compatriot Tereza Martincova 6-3 6-3.

Eighth seed Pliskova, who served nine double faults, will play Russian wildcard Ludmilla Samsonova in the last 16 after her 6-2 2-6 6-4 win over American Sloane Stephens.
