The Zamfara State Government has reiterated its commitment to the welfare and safety of corps members deployed to the state.
Governor Dauda Lawal gave the assurance during the swearing-in of the 2025 Batch B Stream I corps members at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Gusau on Friday. He was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Alhaji Nasiru Kaura.
Lawal highlighted the resumption of state allowances and special packages for medical corps members as evidence of his administration’s dedication.
He urged the corps members to serve with integrity and contribute meaningfully to their host communities.
NYSC State Coordinator, Mallam Muhammad Ahmed, expressed gratitude to the governor and outlined the orientation programme’s key components, including skills acquisition and cultural immersion.
A total of 554 corps members were sworn in by the Chief Judge of Zamfara State, represented by Deputy Chief Registrar Aishatu Jibrin. Ahmed also appealed for a larger orientation camp to accommodate increasing numbers.
