In a statement released on Tuesday, the MTN Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to fostering musical talent in Nigeria through its 2024 Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON) Scholarship Programme.
The foundation emphasized that the MTN-MUSON Scholarship Programme is specifically designed to help young Nigerian musicians navigate the challenges they face on their journey to success.
“The music industry in Nigeria is filled with creative and ambitious individuals, but many of them encounter significant obstacles on their path to success. The MTN-MUSON Scholarship Programme is aimed at addressing these challenges,” the foundation stated.
According to the MTN Foundation, this initiative is crafted to prepare young talents for both national and international stages. The foundation highlighted that its partnership with MUSON offers a comprehensive experience that seeks to nurture the next generation of musical talent in Nigeria.
The programme, as outlined by the foundation, provides scholars with world-class training that enhances their musical skills, deepens their understanding of the music business, and enriches their appreciation for the arts. Additionally, the scholarship covers full tuition and includes opportunities for live performances to build stage confidence and showcase talent.
“These experiences have been proven to significantly benefit those looking to thrive in the music industry,” the foundation noted.
Since its inception, the MTN-MUSON Scholarship Programme has benefited over 484 alumni, many of whom have gone on to become influential figures in the music industry, both locally and internationally.
The MTN Foundation encouraged talented young Nigerian musicians with a passion for success to enroll in the programme, offering them a unique opportunity to refine their talents, network with other like-minded individuals, and lay a solid foundation for a successful musical career.
Since its establishment in 2004, the MTN Foundation has invested approximately N29.4 billion in 1,052 projects across Nigeria.
