The Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi, has died. The state’s Commissioner for Information, Wale Akinlosotu, confirmed his passing in a statement issued on Saturday, January 4, 2025.
The statement revealed that Oluwatuyi succumbed to injuries sustained in a road accident along the Ife-Ibadan Road on December 15, 2024. Following the accident, he had been hospitalized but ultimately passed away.
“It is with profound sadness that the Government of Ondo State announces the passing of Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), on January 4, 2025,” Akinlosotu said. “He was involved in a ghastly car accident on Sunday, December 15, 2024, while travelling to Ibadan and was subsequently hospitalised.”
Akinlosotu described the late Oluwatuyi as a committed public servant and politician whose contributions significantly advanced Ondo State’s development.
“Hon. Oluwatuyi was a dedicated public servant whose unwavering commitment to administrative coordination, policy advisory, and implementation had a significant impact on Ondo State,” the commissioner stated.
The Ondo State Government extended condolences to the Oluwatuyi family, friends, and associates.
“The Government of Ondo State extends its deepest condolences to the Oluwatuyi family of Akure, friends, and associates during this difficult time,” Akinlosotu said.
Details regarding the late politician’s burial arrangements will be announced in due course, he added.
