In a bold step towards fostering inclusivity, Fidelity Bank Plc has unveiled the Bundles of Joy initiative, a program designed to provide enriching experiences for children with special needs and valuable support for their families.
The inaugural session of the initiative took place over the weekend at a dedicated facility in Lekki, Lagos, bringing together children, parents, and caregivers. Fidelity Bank’s Divisional Head of Brand and Communications, Dr. Meksley Nwagboh, described the program as a key part of the bank’s efforts to positively impact lives and build stronger communities.
“Bundles of Joy is a vision of our Managing Director and CEO, Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe,” said Nwagboh. “It aims to promote inclusivity by creating opportunities for children with special needs to learn and grow while empowering their parents and caregivers with knowledge and skills. Today’s session includes engaging activities for the children to enhance their mobility and social abilities, while their parents benefit from workshops tailored to their unique needs.”
The program is part of Fidelity Bank’s extensive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, which focus on health, social welfare, and community development.
Parents Hail the Initiative
Parents and caregivers who participated in the event expressed deep appreciation for the bank’s efforts. Joy Daberechi, a mother in attendance, shared her gratitude, saying, “This program has been incredibly enlightening. The facilitators have provided valuable insights into how I can better care for my daughter. Even though I am not yet a Fidelity Bank customer, I feel encouraged to open an account and take full advantage of this wonderful initiative.”
Another participant, Deborah Eromokhodion, echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the sense of community fostered by the program. “This has been a heartwarming experience,” she said. “The specialist sessions were insightful, and meeting other parents has been a source of encouragement. It’s comforting to share experiences and exchange tips on supporting our children to achieve their goals.”
Registration and Future Plans
Fidelity Bank plans to expand the initiative with special outings for participating children starting in January 2025. Interested families can register online at www.fidelitybank.ng/bundlesofjoy/ by providing their details and information about their child’s needs.
The event concluded with the distribution of goodie bags for the children and gifts for the parents, leaving smiles on faces and renewed hope in the hearts of families.
