Group Denies Ojulari’s Resignation Rumour

By Ayomide Otitoju

The Situation Room on Positive Reforms has dismissed widespread rumours of the resignation of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) GCEO Bayo Ojulari, denouncing the claims as a smear campaign.

In a statement signed by Dr. Collins Atawodi, the group accused political detractors of spreading misinformation to destabilize Nigeria’s energy sector and discredit reforms under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The group credited Ojulari with major strides in refinery rehabilitation and recovering funds lost to legacy oil deals, which it claims have made him a target of vested interests.

“This malicious campaign is aimed at undermining transparency and halting reforms. Mr. Ojulari’s refusal to bow to corrupt networks has made him a target,” Atawodi said.

The group urged the Presidency to support Ojulari and safeguard progress made at NNPCL. It also called on media outlets to verify claims before publishing, warning that fake news erodes public trust and threatens national stability.
