Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has praised the Ecobank Design & Build Exhibition, describing the initiative as a strong complement to the state’s drive toward building a modern, livable, and sustainable city.
Speaking through Mrs. Bukola Agbaminoja, CEO of the Lagos State Film & Video Censors Board, Sanwo-Olu commended Ecobank for hosting a successful industry platform. He urged financiers to see housing and infrastructure as projects with long-term economic and social value, while challenging architects, builders, and engineers to embrace energy efficiency, inclusivity, and eco-friendly innovation.
“The Design & Build platform goes beyond visual displays, offering insights into resilient, environmentally friendly solutions for urban growth. Our future depends on what we build today, how we build it, and for whom,” the Governor said.
Mobolaji Adeniyi, President of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA), also lauded Ecobank’s role in advancing industry collaboration, pledging the NIA’s support for sustainable design and construction.
The second edition of the Ecobank Design & Build Expo attracted over 60 exhibitors and a wide audience, including government officials, academics, industry professionals, students, regulators, and diplomats. Participants engaged in panel discussions, expert-led knowledge sessions, and interactive displays that showcased innovations in architecture, construction, and interior design.
Notable exhibitors and partners included Lafarge, Sacvin, Maison Valor, MIXTA, AFP Julius Berger, Plascon Paints, Floor Nigeria, and Goggins. Highlights featured immersive installations, live cooking experiences, and contributions from thought leaders such as Arc. Christian Benimana of MASS Design Group and Prof. Taibat Lawanson of the University of Liverpool.
Panelists and creative voices—ranging from architects and interior designers to media and energy entrepreneurs—explored themes of sustainability, cultural relevance, and inclusive growth.
With its blend of innovation and industry dialogue, the 2025 Ecobank Design & Build Expo has reinforced its position as a premier platform for shaping Nigeria’s built environment and driving sustainable transformation.
