NNPC Limited has presented its Safety by Design Award to Orsted at the International Energy Week held in London from February 10 to 12, 2026.
The award was presented by Adesua Dozie, General Counsel and Secretary to the NNPC Ltd. Board.
Ørsted received the recognition for its Cargo Drone Lifting project, an automated system that deploys drones to transport tools and equipment to offshore wind turbine locations. The initiative eliminates the need for workers to manually climb or handle heavy loads at height, significantly reducing safety risks associated with cargo transfers.
International Energy Week convenes policymakers, industry leaders, investors, regulators and technology experts to deliberate on global energy security, transition strategies, investment opportunities and sustainability.
