Leeds United defender Joe Rodon has signed a new four-year contract with the club, keeping him at Elland Road until 2030.
The Welsh centre-back described the decision to extend his stay as a “no-brainer”, saying he is happier at Leeds than at any other point in his career.
Rodon joined Leeds in 2023, initially on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, and quickly established himself as a key figure under manager Daniel Farke. Following a successful debut campaign, in which he made 46 Championship and play-off appearances, Leeds made his move permanent for £10 million.
The 28-year-old played all 46 league matches during Leeds’ 2024/25 Championship title-winning campaign and featured in 35 of their 38 Premier League fixtures last season.
Rodon has missed only six league games during his three years at the club and has become a popular figure among Leeds supporters. Last week, he was named one of four vice-captains supporting club captain Ethan Ampadu.
“I am delighted,” Rodon told LUTV after signing his new deal. “Everyone in the club has been absolutely brilliant with me and I have loved it.
“To extend my time here and hopefully spend many more years here, I am just looking forward to a successful future.”
Rodon said Leeds’ ambition and long-term project played a major role in his decision to remain at the club.
“For me, the direction we have come in and the journey I have been on since I have been here, the ambition and the project that is happening here, it was a no-brainer,” he said.
He added: “It is the happiest I have been in my career. Everything just feels the norm to me now. It is like my second home now, Leeds. The connection I have with the fans and everyone at the club is second to none.”
