AC Milan are reportedly assessing the future of Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze as transfer discussions and squad restructuring continue ahead of the new season.
The Nigerian international spent last season on loan at Fulham, but the Premier League side declined to activate a reported €26 million purchase option, bringing his spell in England to an end.
According to reports, Milan are currently in talks with Fulham over a possible reduction in the agreed fee, although no final agreement has been reached.
Chukwueze has since returned to the Rossoneri squad, but his long-term future at the club remains uncertain, particularly following the appointment of Ruben Amorim as head coach.
Amorim’s arrival is expected to trigger tactical and personnel changes at the club, with several players potentially affected by the reshuffle.
Italian football journalist Luca Cerchione reports that Milan consider Chukwueze a “sellable asset” and are open to his departure if a suitable offer is received. However, the club is not actively pushing for his exit.
His situation differs from that of players such as Rafael Leão, Youssouf Fofana and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who are reportedly more firmly placed in the club’s plans or considered surplus depending on roles under the new coach.
With two years remaining on his contract, Milan are said to be cautious about his valuation, aiming to avoid a scenario where his market value declines or he leaves on a free transfer in the future.
The Super Eagles forward is now expected to face increased competition for playing time as the club reshapes its squad under Amorim’s leadership.
