Chairman of Access Holdings, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, has reaffirmed the Group’s commitment to driving cross-continental trade and sustainable development, with engagements spanning from the Caribbean to Southern Africa.
At the AfriCaribbean Trade & Investment Forum (ACTIF) 2025 in Grenada, Aig-Imoukhuede joined heads of government, business leaders, and investors to explore new opportunities for trade and investment between Africa and the Caribbean. Discussions at the forum focused on boosting collaboration in tourism, agriculture, renewable energy, and digital innovation.
Speaking at the event, Sunmbo Olatunji, Access Bank’s CEO for Caribbean Expansion, described the institution as a “bridge” connecting both regions. “We are building pathways for trade and investment that will outlast today’s market cycles,” she said, emphasizing the Group’s long-term growth strategy.
Following the forum, Aig-Imoukhuede travelled to Lusaka, Zambia, where he met President Hakainde Hichilema to discuss strategic investments in the country’s energy and agriculture sectors. During the meeting, he pledged up to $100 million in financing to support power generation and transmission projects. President Hichilema welcomed the commitment, noting that expanded energy infrastructure would strengthen industries such as mining, where copper production is projected to hit one million metric tonnes this year.
The Access Holdings Chairman also paid a courtesy call on Vice-President W.K. Mutale Nalumango, with discussions shifting to community impact initiatives. Among these was the renovation of Maternity Ward B03 at the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka and ongoing women’s capacity-building programmes, underscoring the Group’s broader commitment to social transformation.
He was accompanied by Access Bank Zambia’s Managing Director, Lishala C. Situmbeko, and Acting Board Chairperson, Mildred Kaunda, who highlighted the subsidiary’s role in delivering innovative financial services and empowering local communities.
“Zambia is central to our pan-African vision. We are here to build enduring partnerships that unlock prosperity and improve lives,” Aig-Imoukhuede said.
From forging Africa–Caribbean trade links to financing Zambia’s energy ambitions and strengthening healthcare infrastructure, Access Holdings continues to pursue its mission of becoming the world’s most respected African financial services group.
