The Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) has approved a contract valued at N1,773,559,976.65 for the construction of the Ikenga–Isuofia–Igboukwu Discharge Channel, marking another step in Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s ongoing infrastructure expansion drive.
The approval was granted during the 23rd ANSEC meeting held on Monday, 17 November 2025, at the Light House, Awka.
Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, said the Council also endorsed several complementary projects, including the supply and installation of a 32kVA solar power system at the Country Club of Solution Fun City, Awka, and the construction of a Solution Park & Pay Garage in Ekwulobia. The facility will feature an office building, gate house, toilet facilities, concrete flooring, a park gazebo with solar panel stands, park benches, and a perimeter fence.
Additional approvals include:
Extension of electricity to Iyiora Anam Community and Zion Ministry Psychiatric and Elderly Hospital, Aguleri
Installation of a 3-way traffic light system at Igwe Orizu Junction and a 4-way traffic light system at Nnewi Roundabout on the Nnewi–Ozubulu Dual Carriageway, both with pedestrian lights
Supply and installation of fire-fighting equipment at the College of Nursing Sciences, Umueze-Isuofia
Rehabilitation of failed sections of St. Thomas Aquinas Road, GRA Awka–Ministry of Lands–Ekwulobia Street–Chief Abose Ejeagwu Lane
Governor Soludo’s ongoing transformation agenda received commendation from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his recent visit to Anambra State, where he commissioned landmark projects, including the newly completed Government House, the Light House Awka.
The President praised Soludo’s performance and described him as “Mr Solution,” noting that the governor has demonstrated exceptional capacity in delivering developmental projects across the state.
