Aquafina emerged as a major highlight at the 11th edition of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon held on February 14, 2026, rewarding the first ten groups to complete the 10-kilometre race with N1 million each.
The initiative underscores the brand’s continued investment in fitness, wellness, and community engagement within Nigeria’s expanding running culture. Under its campaign theme, “Run am with your Padi of Life,” Aquafina encouraged participants to compete alongside friends, teammates, and running crews, emphasising the importance of collective support in achieving peak performance.
Throughout the race, the brand maintained strong on-course visibility and provided hydration support to runners, while its on-ground activations added to the vibrant atmosphere for participants and spectators alike.
By rewarding groups rather than individual athletes, Aquafina spotlighted teamwork, shared goals, and mutual accountability. The N1 million prize for each of the first ten finishing groups injected fresh competitive energy into the 10km category.
The marathon, widely regarded as one of West Africa’s premier road races, attracted elite runners, recreational athletes, corporate teams, and fitness enthusiasts from across Nigeria and beyond.
Speaking after the event, Funso Elubeku, Assistant General Manager at Seven-Up Bottling Company, said the marathon represents resilience, discipline, and community spirit.
“Through Aquafina, we ensured participants remained hydrated while celebrating the teamwork and support that help runners push beyond their limits. Rewarding the first ten finishing groups reflects our commitment to recognising dedication, performance, and personal achievement,” he said.
Aquafina’s participation aligns with its broader mission to promote active lifestyles and foster healthier living through sustained engagement with Nigeria’s fitness community.
