Bishop Amade Stresses Need for Intercessors in Faith

By Ayomide Otitoju

Bishop Dr. Cephas Amade, Senior Pastor of New Dawn International Christian Ministry, has emphasized the critical role of intercessors in bridging the gap between God and humanity. Citing Ezekiel 22:30, he lamented the scarcity of individuals willing to stand in prayer on behalf of others.

According to Bishop Amade, intercessors serve as negotiators between God and mankind, playing a vital role in averting divine judgment. He referenced the biblical account of Abraham, who pleaded with God to spare Sodom and Gomorrah, reducing the required number of righteous individuals from fifty to ten. However, the lack of even ten righteous people led to the cities’ destruction.

Drawing parallels to modern times, the bishop urged believers to recognize their power in interceding for their families, communities, and churches. “If your ways are pleasing to God and people believe in you, you can stand as a mediator,” he stated. He further noted that true intercessors often receive divine warnings before significant events unfold.

However, Bishop Amade cautioned that standing in the gap requires spiritual alignment with God. He emphasized that those who only pray in times of need or fail to honor God with their resources cannot effectively serve as intercessors. “Abraham was called a friend of God, not an enemy,” he remarked, urging Christians to maintain a steadfast relationship with God to fulfill this sacred duty.
