Content creator and streamer Carter Efe delivered a disciplined performance on Saturday night to defeat street-pop singer Portable by unanimous decision at Chaos in the Ring 4, ending Portable’s unbeaten run in Nigeria’s celebrity boxing scene.
The bout, held at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos, drew major attention across the entertainment industry following weeks of heated exchanges and reports of a ₦50 million prize incentive.
Portable entered the fight as the favourite, having previously recorded wins over Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington, and was widely known for his aggressive, unpredictable style inside the ring.
However, Efe, making his boxing debut, adopted a more controlled approach, absorbing early pressure before settling into the contest with measured counterattacks and superior timing.
As the fight progressed, Efe gained clear control, using cleaner combinations and body shots to disrupt Portable’s rhythm, while avoiding the singer’s wide, erratic swings.
Portable attempted to close the distance with his trademark aggression but was repeatedly neutralised by Efe’s footwork and composure.
By the final round, Efe was firmly in command, dictating pace and landing the more effective punches. All three judges scored the fight 30–27 in his favour.
The encounter capped a tense build-up marked by public exchanges and face-offs between both men, with Portable’s flamboyant pre-fight confidence ultimately undone by Efe’s tactical discipline.
After the fight, Efe celebrated the victory as a breakthrough moment in his career, while Portable questioned aspects of the contest but maintained his defiant stance.
Organiser Soso Soberekon hailed the event as a landmark moment for Nigeria’s influencer boxing scene, claiming massive global engagement and describing the night as a historic success for entertainment boxing in Lagos.
