The Pastor and Spiritual Head of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) Worldwide, His Eminence Reverend E.M.F. Oshoffa, has issued firm directives to the leadership of the Canada Diocese following internal disagreements among its senior clergy.
The move comes amid reported tensions between the Head of the Canada Diocese, VSE Rufus Adeoba, and other key figures including VSE Kunle Lawal, VSE Michael Bakare, and VSE Jide Salako.
In a memo (Ref: CCC/EMF/PO-RA/CAN-015/11-25) dated December 11, 2025, addressed to VSE Adeoba, Reverend Oshoffa instructed that all actions relating to the sale of the CCC Ayo Mother Parish building in Canada and the appointment of a new shepherd for the parish be put on hold.
The memo further directed that no further press releases or public statements be issued regarding the disputes, and that all earlier letters issued in November 2025 concerning these issues be withdrawn.
Reverend Oshoffa also invited the stakeholders of the Canada Diocese to a critical meeting in Nigeria on Friday, January 23, 2026. Attendees are required to present proof of clergy registration and their VSE Anointment Certificates.
The directives emphasise that any attempt to issue further statements to the media or initiate litigation regarding the matters will attract the ire of the church’s apex authority.
Until the meeting, the status quo remains: the CCC Ayo Mother Parish continues as the Archdiocese under VSE Kunle Lawal, and the Canada Diocese will maintain its two existing regions, East and West.
The measures aim to restore peace and ensure the continued progress of the Canada Diocese of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide.
