The Agidingbi Cathedral, Archdiocese came alive with festive cheer as parishioners gathered for their annual Christmas carols, marking another joyous celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. This year’s event, graced by Sandra Claus from England, brought a unique blend of tradition and innovation to the cherished festivities.
Sandra Claus shared her excitement about the occasion, saying, “To God be the glory, this is many years that we have been doing Christmas carols. But this year, it is truly wonders without number. Bringing carols all the way from England allowed us to share gifts, spread joy, and make the children happy.”
The event’s highlight was a captivating performance by the church’s children. “Their performance was very nice and showed the result of dedicated practice,” said Amunson Oluwatomisi. “It reflects the value we place on Christmas and its significance as Christians.”
The spirit of the carols extended beyond music and entertainment. Retiola Oluwatomisi, another participant, emphasized the deeper meaning of the celebration. “Christmas should not only be about food and festivities. It’s about remembering our Savior, who died on the cross for our sins. I hope everyone embraces harmony, peace, and the love of Christ this season.”
Brother Tobias, a parish leader, expressed gratitude for the success of the event. “The Christmas carol has been a wonderful experience. God has been merciful and gracious to us. The children performed marvelously, and the entire church was filled with excitement. We give glory to God for His blessings.”
The event also featured a visit from Father Christmas, much to the delight of the children, who received gifts and shared moments of joy. The church leadership, including the Sunday school teachers, the Doyen of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) Worldwide, and the Mother Celestial, played pivotal roles in making the carols a success.
In a message of unity, Brother Afolayan , a Sunday school teacher, urged Christians to embody the season’s spirit of love and generosity. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. Let us love our neighbors, show kindness to our communities, and remain spirit-filled in our actions and prayers. This season reminds us of God’s unfailing grace and the salvation brought through Jesus Christ.”
The Agidingbi Cathedral’s 2024 Christmas carol concluded with a heartfelt appeal for believers to hold onto their faith and trust in God’s ability to answer prayers, ensuring the celebrations resonate beyond the season.
