Fidelity Bank Launches Digital Empowerment Drive for Nigerian SMEs

By Ayomide Otitoju

In a move to support Nigeria’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), Fidelity Bank Plc has unveiled a new empowerment initiative designed to equip entrepreneurs with digital tools to enhance business efficiency and competitiveness.

Through the Fidelity SME Empowerment Program (FSEP), the bank will provide 100 selected entrepreneurs with a complete digital operations toolkit. This includes a desktop POS system, ERPRev software access, barcode scanner, receipt printer, inventory management tools, free Fidelity POS device, branding support, and business training.

Announcing the initiative, Osita Ede, Divisional Head of Product Development at Fidelity Bank, emphasized the impact of digital transformation on business growth.

“Digitalisation has the power to scale SMEs exponentially. By providing these tools free of charge, we are reaffirming our role as Nigeria’s leading SME partner,” Ede said.

The program also aligns with the bank’s celebration of World SME Day 2025, which featured open access to its SME Hub in Lagos and a special mentoring session led by CEO Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe for female entrepreneurs.

Fidelity Bank has received numerous awards for its SME and digital banking services, including Best Bank for SMEs in Nigeria by Euromoney and Excellence in Digital Transformation by the BusinessDay BAFI Awards.
