The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, will deliver the keynote address at the 2025 National Annual Conference of the Finance and Business Online Publishers (FiBOP), scheduled for October 18–19 at Orchid Hotels, Lekki, Lagos.

The conference, themed “Achieving a $1 Trillion Economy: Leveraging Technology Innovations, Tax Reforms, and Opportunities in Renewable Energy, Agriculture, and Financial Services,” will bring together policymakers, technocrats, academics, industry leaders, and financial experts. Discussions will focus on strategies to accelerate Nigeria’s economic transformation through diversification, innovation, and sustainable investment, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Leading institutions have pledged support for the event, including the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Polaris Bank, Zenith Bank, Fidelity Bank, emPLE Insurance, Universal Insurance, and Nestlé Nigeria Plc.

Mr. Edun underscored the importance of mobilizing domestic savings to drive investment. “A trusted and stable financial system, anchored by strong institutions, is essential to lifting millions out of poverty and driving Nigeria’s transition to a $1 trillion economy,” he said.

FiBOP President, Mr. Charles Onwuatogwu, described the conference as both a platform for dialogue and a vehicle for building partnerships. He encouraged more organizations to collaborate with FiBOP, assuring sponsors of broad visibility through media coverage and brand promotion.

He added that the event will provide a unique opportunity to craft actionable solutions in technology, agriculture, renewable energy, insurance, and financial services, while reducing reliance on oil revenues.

FiBOP, registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, is an association of seasoned online publishers and editors committed to advancing informed reporting, wealth creation, and inclusive development in Nigeria and across Africa.

Organizers expressed confidence that the 2025 deliberations will accelerate strategies for achieving the $1 trillion economy target by 2030, translating into improved livelihoods and national prosperity.
