Telecommunications provider Globacom has announced a significant reduction in its International Direct Dialing (IDD) tariffs, offering cheaper call rates to more than 15 major global destinations.
The revised rates, effective from August 10, apply to both new and existing subscribers, with prices now starting from as low as ₦30 per minute.
Under the new pricing structure, calls to the United States have dropped from ₦35 to ₦30 per minute, while rates to India fell from ₦45 to ₦40. Calls to the United Kingdom have been reduced from ₦400 to ₦350, and Saudi Arabia from ₦350 to ₦300. Rates to Cameroon now stand at ₦700, and China at ₦75.
Tariffs to neighbouring African countries have also been adjusted: Benin Republic at ₦650 per minute, Niger Republic at ₦750, Ghana at ₦500, and Togo at ₦650. Calls to the United Arab Emirates have been cut from ₦450 to ₦325, while Germany is now ₦550. Rates to Côte d’Ivoire and Libya are ₦700 each, and Malawi has been reduced from ₦1,200 to ₦1,100.
Globacom said the tariff cuts are aimed at delivering greater value, boosting cross-border connectivity, and positioning the network as the preferred choice for international calls.
The company also disclosed plans to roll out new IDD bundles in the coming weeks, promising even more competitive offers for frequent international callers.
