Lagos Police Arrest Nurse After Woman’s Death in Lekki

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a nurse in the Lekki area following the death of a 36-year-old woman, identified only as Abiola.

The incident was reported by the deceased’s driver at the Maroko Police Division, according to a statement released on Wednesday by the police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin.

The driver recounted that his employer, a resident of Diamond Estate in Sangotedo-Lekki, had been taken to a clinic in Lekki Phase 1 to undergo a cosmetic procedure known as a Brazilian Butt Lift. Tragically, the procedure ended in her death.

“Upon our arrival, the clinic owner directed a nurse to administer an injection on Abiola. Moments later, chaos ensued as the woman lost consciousness and started gasping for breath,” Hundeyin said.

In a desperate attempt to save her, the driver rushed Abiola to another hospital in Lekki Phase 1, but staff there confirmed she was dead upon arrival.

Detectives have since visited the scene, meticulously gathering evidence, inspecting, and photographing the remains, which have been transported to a public morgue for autopsy.

The nurse involved in administering the injection has been taken into custody, and Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade, has ordered a thorough investigation into the tragic incident.
