Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday prayed at Jerusalem’s Western Wall for U.S. President Donald Trump, following overnight American strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
Netanyahu, accompanied by his wife Sara, offered prayers for Trump’s protection and praised the U.S. president for what he called a historic stand against “evil and darkness.”
The Israeli leader hailed the airstrikes, which targeted Iran’s Fordo, Isfahan, and Natanz nuclear sites, as a turning point. “Trump’s decision to act will change history,” he said.
Many Israelis welcomed the U.S. intervention, viewing it as a show of solidarity in the ongoing conflict that began on June 13.
The Western Wall, a sacred site in Judaism, has long been a place for national prayer during moments of crisis. Netanyahu placed a note in the ancient stones reading, “The people of Israel have risen — the people of Israel live!”
