The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has inaugurated a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Unit as part of its commitment to fostering inclusive growth and sustainable impact across communities.
According to NCS spokesperson Abdullahi Maiwada, the CSR Unit will oversee projects under the “Customs Cares” initiative, which aligns with national development priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Key focus areas include school renovations, mobile clinics, food and medical aid, agricultural support, and skills acquisition programs.
“This strategic direction aligns with the Presidential Priority Areas and reinforces the Service’s role as a socially responsible institution. Through Customs Cares, the Service will complement President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda while strengthening community engagement and staff participation in nation-building efforts,” Maiwada said.
He urged officers, stakeholders, and the public to embrace the initiative as a collective effort to drive positive change, adding that the NCS remains committed to expanding its impact through partnerships and strategic interventions.
