The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted rainfall and thunderstorms in parts of the country beginning today.
In its latest weather advisory, NiMet said thunderstorms with moderate rains were expected in the morning over parts of Kaduna State. By afternoon and evening, similar conditions were anticipated across Bauchi, Gombe, Zamfara, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Sokoto, Kebbi, Adamawa, Taraba, and Borno States.
For the central region, light morning rains are expected over parts of the Federal Capital Territory, southern Niger, and Kwara. Later in the day, light rains are likely across Nasarawa, Kogi, Benue, Kwara, Plateau, Niger, and the FCT.
In the south, light rains are expected in the morning in parts of Enugu, Anambra, Imo, and Akwa Ibom, with rainfall expected to persist across the entire region into the evening.
NiMet advised Nigerians to take precautions against strong winds, lightning, and possible localised flooding during thunderstorms.
