The Kogi State Government has acquired 50 armoured vehicles to strengthen security operations and improve the safety of residents across the state.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo announced the development while inspecting the first batch of five armoured vehicles that recently arrived in the state.
According to the governor, the acquisition is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the operational capacity of security agencies and provide greater protection for personnel engaged in patrols and other security operations, particularly in areas vulnerable to criminal activities.
Ododo said the vehicles would be deployed to various security agencies operating in the state to support patrol activities and improve rapid response to security threats.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, noting that the investment in security infrastructure reflects the government’s determination to create a safer environment for residents, businesses and communities across Kogi State.
The state government described the acquisition as a major step toward strengthening the fight against crime and boosting public confidence in the state’s security architecture.
