President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians to uphold the rights of all citizens to live, worship, and pursue their aspirations in safety and dignity. In his 2025 Christmas goodwill message, he emphasized that no one, regardless of ethnicity or belief, should suffer for practising their faith.
“The love for God and love for humanity is at the heart of all the great faiths. These shared values must continue to bind us together as one indivisible and resilient people of our blessed country,” the President said.
Reflecting on the past year, Tinubu noted his engagements with prominent leaders from the nation’s two major faiths, highlighting efforts to address concerns over religious intolerance and insecurity. He stressed that these dialogues will help strengthen collaboration between government and religious institutions to prevent conflict and promote peaceful coexistence.
As many Nigerians travel to reunite with family and loved ones during the holiday season, the President urged citizens to exercise patience and maintain discipline on the roads. “We wish all travellers a safe journey and a safe return to their destinations,” he added.
