The Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank PLC, Dr. Adore Umoji, has joined the global community in celebrating women on this year’s International Women’s Day (IWD). Recognizing the invaluable contributions of women to society and the organization, he reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to fostering gender equality and empowerment.
Dr. Umoji highlighted the significance of this year’s IWD theme, “Accelerate Action”, as well as the United Nations’ focus on women’s rights, equality, and empowerment. He emphasized that Zenith Bank has implemented several initiatives aimed at uplifting women, including the Z-Woman product, designed to support women-owned businesses, and the SME Grow My Business program, which provides resources and mentorship to female entrepreneurs.
“As we mark this year’s International Women’s Day, we have a collective duty to accelerate action in supporting and empowering the girl child to achieve success in her chosen endeavors,” he stated.
Dr. Umoji also encouraged women to rise to the challenge, believe in themselves, set ambitious goals, and remain resilient in their pursuits.
