The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has reiterated that only Jesus Christ can save humanity. Adeboye made this proclamation during the December 2024 edition of the annual Let’s Go A-Fishing outreach program, themed “Good News.”

In a statement shared with The PUNCH on Saturday, Adeboye emphasized Christ’s mission to redeem humanity. “Jesus Christ’s mission is to save humanity. Christ came to earth, bore humanity’s sins, and offered salvation and eternal life to all who will believe,” he said.

A Nationwide Spiritual Movement
The Let’s Go A-Fishing program, established over two decades ago, serves as a cornerstone of RCCG’s mission to spread the gospel across Nigeria. During the 2024 edition, Adeboye, affectionately known as Daddy G.O., visited Delta, Ekiti, Ondo, Ogun, and Lagos States, delivering sermons that resonated deeply with attendees.

In addition to his messages, Adeboye led altar calls that saw thousands of participants commit their lives to Christ. He also prayed for peace, prosperity, and spiritual renewal in the communities he visited, bringing inspiration and comfort to leaders and residents alike.

Prominent figures, including the Ekiti State Governor, the Ondo State Deputy Governor, and traditional rulers, attended the program at various locations, underscoring its significance as a bridge between faith, leadership, and community engagement.

Community Outreach and Social Impact
True to RCCG’s holistic approach to ministry, the program extended beyond spiritual activities. Across the states, RCCG organized Christian Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, including free medical treatments, food distribution, and other welfare services. These efforts provided tangible relief to families, reflecting the church’s dedication to addressing both spiritual and physical needs.

Specific locations visited by Adeboye included Agbarha-Otor in Delta State; Ilogbo in Ekiti State; Ore, Okitipupa, Akungba Akoko, and Akure in Ondo State; Ikenne, Ago-Iwoye, and Abeokuta in Ogun State; and Alagbado, Surulere, LASU, Lekki, and Epe in Lagos State.

A Legacy of Global Impact
Founded in 1952 by Pastor Josiah Akindayomi and now led by Adeboye, RCCG has grown into one of the world’s largest Pentecostal denominations, with a strong presence in communities across the globe. The Let’s Go A-Fishing program exemplifies RCCG’s commitment to spreading the gospel while fostering community development and spiritual renewal.
