Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is seeking a presidential pardon from Donald Trump ahead of his October sentencing on prostitution-related charges, his lawyer said on Tuesday.
Attorney Nicole Westmoreland told CNN that outreach had been made to Trump regarding a possible pardon. However, Trump signalled reluctance in a Friday interview with Newsmax, saying: “I got along with him great… but when I ran for office, he was very hostile.”
Combs, 55, was convicted last month by a New York jury on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, each carrying a maximum 10-year prison term. He was acquitted of racketeering and sex trafficking charges following a lengthy trial that heard allegations of severe abuse.
