Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that preparations for his forthcoming white wedding to wife Chioma Adeleke have already cost about $3.7 million in cash.
“We’ve spent $3.7 million in cash. So, you should know what we are doing. It’s going to be crazy,” the 32-year-old singer said in a video posted on Instagram by fellow artiste Teni.
The couple arrived in Miami earlier this week aboard a private jet decorated with flowers and a “MRS” chair, ahead of a pre-wedding party attended by celebrities including Zlatan Ibile, Adekunle Gold, Teniola Apata, Tunde Ednut, and Poco Lee. Family members, including cousin B-Red, were also present.
The celebration, initially slated for August, will now take place this weekend, according to Tunde Ednut. It will be the pair’s third ceremony, following a court wedding in March 2023 and a traditional wedding in Lagos in June 2024 that drew politicians, celebrities, and high-profile guests, including Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Davido and Chioma, who met over a decade ago while she studied at Babcock University, have been together publicly since 2018. Their relationship has endured public challenges, including the loss of their first son in 2022, before welcoming twins in 2023.
The Miami wedding is expected to be a lavish event, adding to one of Nigeria’s most closely followed celebrity love stories.
