Polaris Bank Plc has convened corporate customers and stakeholders in Nigeria’s non-oil sector for its Global Trade Forum, aimed at addressing trade-related challenges and unlocking growth opportunities in the global market.
The forum, themed “Trade Export: Partnering for Growth”, brought together exporters, regulators, policy influencers, and business leaders at the Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island. Discussions focused on trade finance, export readiness, compliance, market access, and the role of digital platforms in enhancing cross-border transactions.
Polaris Bank Managing Director/CEO, Kayode Lawal, emphasized the importance of trade as a driver of sustainable economic growth, reaffirming the Bank’s commitment to providing tailored solutions that enable Nigerian businesses to compete globally. He noted that the engagement was designed to tackle real issues faced by exporters while positioning Polaris as a partner in long-term business growth.
The Assistant Comptroller of Customs, Aondona Fanyama, who led a delegation from the Nigeria Customs Service, demonstrated the use of the Nigeria Trade Portal, stressing its role in enhancing transparency and efficiency in trade. He also resolved challenges raised by participants, underscoring the practical value of such forums.
The event featured full representation from Polaris Bank’s executive management team, including Executive Directors Chris Ofikulu and Abimbola Ozomah, alongside key business leaders from Treasury, Global Trade, and Corporate Banking.
