Residents of Alpha Beach Settlement in Okun Alfa, a coastal community on the Lekki Peninsula in Lagos, received relief materials from KloverHarris Limited following displacement caused by the ongoing construction of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.
The Lagos-based business consultancy firm distributed palliatives to more than 150 residents on Friday, March 13, 2026, as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. Beneficiaries received food and household items including rice, beans, garri, salt, semolina, sugar, vegetable oil, toothpaste, milk, detergents, soap and palm oil.
The Alpha Beach Settlement is located in Okun Alfa within Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State.
Speaking during the event, the Managing Director of KloverHarris Limited, Bukola Ariyibi, said the intervention was aimed at easing the hardship faced by residents displaced from their homes.
“Our key objective in making this intervention is to mitigate the pain which the displacement from their homes would have inflicted on fellow Nigerians,” she said. Ariyibi noted that the initiative aligns with the company’s philosophy of building strategic partnerships that promote socio-economic development in Nigeria.
She added that despite the challenges faced by residents, the firm remains encouraged by the anticipated economic and developmental benefits of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project.
Ariyibi also assured that the organisation would continue to collaborate with stakeholders to implement interventions that support national development and community welfare.
Community leaders welcomed the gesture and expressed appreciation to the company for the support.
The Baale of Alpha Beach Settlement, Chief Yusuf Elegushi Atewolara, commended the company for what he described as a demonstration of compassion and solidarity with vulnerable members of society.
He also appealed to other individuals and organisations to emulate the initiative, noting that many residents of the community had become homeless and unemployed following the displacement, creating uncertainty for families.
The event, held at the Baale’s palace, was attended by traditional leaders, community representatives, residents, parents and other stakeholders.
Before the recent displacement, the Okun Alfa community—situated along the Atlantic coastline—had already faced repeated sea surges that damaged homes, infrastructure and businesses. The once-popular Alpha Beach, formerly a tourist attraction, has also suffered significant damage due to persistent ocean flooding.
