The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has ordered the contractor handling the reconstruction on Oba Erinwole road in Sagamu to ensure its completion in the next two weeks.
Governor Abiodun who gave the order while inspecting the ongoing project, expressed dissatisfaction with the slow pace of work, directed the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Akin Adesanya to make sure that the job was delivered at the said timeline.
He said the initial contract was to repair the fell sections which was the lowest part of the road, adding that the need to repair the entire stretch from Sagamu-Benin Expressway to Ikorodu junction became necessary for the road to be completely done.
“This part of the town is one of the prime areas and the value of property has begun to depreciate due to the condition of the road. So, we decided to intervene particularly for the convenience of our people living here and the socio-economic development of the town itself”, he noted.
The project according to the State’s helmsman was in line with his administration’s transformation infrastructural development across the State, saying, “we are also doing similar projects in 18 Local Government Areas. This is not an exception, it has become a norm that characterised ‘Building our Future Together’ agenda”.

Oluomo Extols Legacies Of Founding Fathers In Ogun Public Service
Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo has attributed the remarkable development witnessed in the State to the collective legacies and contributions of founding fathers, particularly members of the Association of Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries while in active service.
Oluomo made this assertion at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta while addressing members of the Association during a courtesy visit to lawmakers in the State, noting that the present efforts of the Association including critical advices and holistic assessment were well appreciated by the present administration.
He said efforts of the founding fathers who participated actively in the formulation of policies and plans since the creation of the State had been a guiding path for present officers in all categories to consolidate on.
The Speaker who reassured of the Assembly’s readiness to partner with the Association in its various activities, canvassed for expertise advice at providing necessary support to the legislative services for effective service delivery.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Association, Chief Babatunde Osokoya said the body having 166 members, comprised of all former Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries who had served in the State since its creation in 1976, stressing that it had contributed to the training and development of the workforce, as well as intervening in several labour matters.
