Renowned Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold, born Adekunle Kosoko, and his wife, singer Simi, have welcomed twins, the couple announced on Wednesday.
Sharing the news on his Snapchat story, Adekunle Gold wrote, “Asked God for another child and He blessed me double.” The gender of the twins has not yet been disclosed, but fans and colleagues quickly sent congratulatory messages.
The announcement follows hints from Simi in December, when she shared a clip on Instagram from Adekunle Gold’s music video for “My Love is the Same.” In the video, she appeared with a baby bump, signaling that the couple was expecting another child.
Adekunle Gold and Simi married in 2019 after years of friendship and musical collaboration. Both artists previously signed with X3M Music and have remained one of Nigeria’s most celebrated music power couples. Their first child, Adejare Kosoko, popularly known as Deja, was born in May 2020.
