NNPC Reaffirms Commitment at Food Bank Launch

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd. has reiterated its commitment to national development following its participation in the launch of the National Community Food Bank Trust Fund and the inauguration of its Board of Trustees at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The programme, an initiative of First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, aims to provide sustainable access to nutritious food for vulnerable Nigerians, while strengthening community-based nutrition systems and addressing food insecurity across the country.

Speaking at the event, the Executive Vice President, Business Services at NNPC Ltd., Sophia Mbakwe, who represented the Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, described the initiative as a collective national effort to improve the welfare of the most vulnerable citizens.

She noted that the company remains committed to supporting development initiatives beyond the energy sector, adding that the food bank programme aligns with NNPC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy focused on enhancing livelihoods and promoting social stability nationwide.
