Access Bank Plc has partnered with five primary healthcare centres (PHCs) in Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos, to enhance access to quality healthcare for residents.
The initiative followed detailed assessments and interactions with the healthcare centres, which revealed critical gaps in medical supplies and equipment. In response, the bank’s employees stepped in to provide essential medical tools, organize wellness symposiums, and deliver financial literacy training for medical personnel.
Speaking on the project, the Group Head, Digital and Centralised Operations Group at Access Bank Plc, Oluseyi Adenmosun, represented by his deputy, Lynda Ifeanyi-Anyanwu, reiterated the bank’s commitment to community development.
“At Access, we believe in building stronger communities through initiatives that extend beyond traditional banking. By leveraging the collective strength of our employee volunteering program, we can touch lives and impact critical areas like healthcare. This initiative is aimed at improving healthcare delivery and empowering communities for the long term,” Adenmosun said.
The wellness symposium provided valuable insights into preventive care and holistic health practices, while the financial literacy sessions equipped healthcare workers with skills to better manage resources and improve operational efficiency.
Dr. Oyebanji Elegushi, Medical Officer of Health, Eti-Osa East LCDA, expressed appreciation for the bank’s intervention.
“This partnership with Access Bank is a significant relief for our healthcare facilities. The new medical equipment and knowledge shared by Access Bank staff will make a lasting difference. We are now better equipped to treat more patients and promote healthier lifestyles in our communities,” he said.
Key stakeholders present at the event included Dr. Mosurat Adeleke, Permanent Secretary, District 3; Dr. Adenike Oguntuase, Director of Medical Sciences, District 3; and Hon. John Campus Ogindare, Executive Chairman of Eti-Osa East LCDA.
